HAJJ CANCELLATION; PROSPECTIVE OGUN PILGRIMS GET MONEY BACK

Due to the cancellation of 2021 Islamic pilgrims by the Saudi authority, the Ogun state government said it has begun the refund of money to prospective pilgrims


It was reliably gathered that the National hajj commission of Nigeria NAHCON has directed that hajj money for intending pilgrims should be refunded due to the cancellation of this year hajj.


The Ogun state Muslim pilgrim welfare Board said the refund of payment for the year 2020/2021 has been kickstarted., Saudi government cancelled this year hajj due to covid-19 pandemic, the government ostensibly did not want to take chance, to avoid multitude of people to be affected, as a result of yearly pilgrims to mecca and medina.


The Ogun state Muslim pilgrim’s welfare Board executive secretary Alhaji Salau Babatunde said in a statement that intending pilgrims should visit the boards secretariat block b complex Oke Mosan Abeokuta with proof of payment and other relevant documents.


The executive secretary further said that those willing to defer their hajj fare deposits till 2021 exercise should inform the board, he also allayed the fear of intending pilgrims about the rumors making the round that their money is intact and safe with the state government.
