Messi and Argentina qualifies for the Copa America Final through penalties, to face Brazil

Argentina prevailed over columbia through penalties shoot out in their Copa America semifinal ties on tuesday night, after playing a 1 -1 draw in regular time, they will now face Brazil in the copa america final in rio de janiero stadium.

Argentina took the lead by an early goal by lautaro martinez assisted by Lionel messi in the 7th minute, columbia equalised in the 61st minute through luis diaz, argentina try their chances but couldnt get the winning goal.

Argentina and Aston villa first goalkeeper Emiliano martinez was the hero of the day after saving three penalties, Argentina won the penalties shoot out 3-2, Lionel messi applauded the keeper after the match saying “he is a phenomenon”

The assist messi gave took his tally to 4, messi now has eight goals contributions in the tournament, eclipsing former teammate, neymar jr who has registered two goals and two assists in competition so far and will look to add more to his tally in the final. On the other hand, Messi tops the chart of most dribbles with 22 in 5 matches. The Barcelona ace has four goals and four assists in five matches so far with two of them coming from freekicks.
