Chidinma Adaora hails from Arochukwu in Abia State. She admitted that she was high on drugs and drink when she attacked and stabbed Michael Usifo Ataga to death during their stay in a short-let apartment in Lagos.

This is based on the confession of Chidinma and the reports from Lagos State Commissioner of Police

“I met him around four months ago through a friend,” . However, this was the first time we stayed together.”

“He urged me to look online for a short-let apartment, which I did, and he said I should go check it out, which I did,” Chidinma continued. He subsequently had to pay for it. That occurred on June 16, 2021.

“With my food, I smoke and drink.” He was sitting on the couch when he approached me, and I informed him I wasn’t pleased with what he had done in the first one. I told him that despite the fact that you don’t aid or assist me, you still want to play around with me.

“Take my ATM card, you can withdraw anything you want,” he said. He mentioned the pin. I told him that’s not what I’m talking about; he grew violent in an attempt to reach me, and I was resisting and defending myself, and at one point, he hit my head against the wall, and I fought back. I was lenned on the kitchen cabinet when he choked me, so I extended out to the knife and stabbed his neck.

she also said it was Super TV CEO that handed his ATM over to her and the only money she withdrew from the account was N380,000. “After I complained that he wasn’t looking after me, he handed me his ATM card and pin. Even though I went directly home after the incident without speaking to anyone, I felt a lot..”

“I intended to pay my tuition with the money I took out of his account. He was the one who invited the drug dealer, and he’s always smoking with him, so I’m not sure if it was the first time.

“We haven’t gone out like this in the four months I’ve known him; we just met and then went to his house in Victoria Garden City.

“When the police officers arrived at my parents’ house to arrest me, I was devastated. It was already late when they came to arrest me on Wednesday at 9 p.m. I reside with my parents and informed them that I was applying for a job as an usher. I used to work as a freelance usher.”

“I checked into the short-let apartment with a foreign number, not because I had it all planned out or because I didn’t want to be traced,” she continued.

“I contacted the lady in charge of renting out the short-term flat using the foreign phone number. The foreign number was generated with` an app.”

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu. also spoke on the issue. he said

“On the 15th of June, 2021, the suspect, Chidinma, checked into a service apartment in Lekki with the deceased Michael Ataga; they were there together as friends on Tuesday, she departed the facility with the man inside, this was made known by

“When the man didn’t come out on Tuesday and Wednesday, the employees in charge of emptying garbage bins went in to do their job and noticed that the flat was a little open when they got in. When they got in, they saw the victim in a pool of his own blood wearing just his underpants.

“That was the start of the police investigation, Fortunately, detectives were able to trace her down and apprehend her on Wednesday. She admitted to doing the crime.

“She severed the artery supplying blood to his neck as well as his stomach. On that same Tuesday, she changed and left him there. The body was discovered only on Wednesday, when police evacuated the area and launched an investigation.

“She also vanished with the victim’s ATM card, which she claimed he voluntarily handed her, as well as the pin, which she used to make withdrawals.

“We were able to retrieve his driver’s license, credit cards, her baggage, clothes, and some personal belongings that the man brought with him. Also found were the clothes she wore during the fight, which were completely soaked with the man’s blood.”
