Two Nigerians were detained with drugs worth over N20 million in India

An official with the Mumbai police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) claimed on Saturday, July 10 that two people, one of whom is a Nigerian national, were arrested in Navi Mumbai for alleged possession of mephedrone valued Rs 37.5 lakh (N20,678,162.13).

On Friday evening, the ANC’s Ghatkopar section set up a trap near the Agarwadi bus stop on the Sion-Panvel Highway in Govandi, and captured Francis Augustin D’Souza, 29, with 45 grams of mephedrone.
The ANC team constructed another trap at Juinagar railway station based on information provided by the apprehended accused, and caught Nigerian national Richard Tony, 39, a resident of Mira Road, and recovered 205 gm of mephedrone during questioning.
